Richard Lambertson and John Truex

Richard Lambertson and John Truex are design directors of the Tiffany Leather Collection. Renowned for creating leather accessories of timeless style and sophistication, the two joined Tiffany & Co. in 2009 and are responsible for the design and development of Tiffany’s handbags and accessories.

Prior to joining Tiffany, they owned and operated Lambertson Truex, the company they founded in 1998 and of which they were co-chief executive officers as well as creative directors. The partners built a reputation for exclusivity, craftsmanship and a uniquely American design vision that was unprecedented in the accessories field. In 2000 they shared honors as the CFDA Accessories Designer of the Year and won the ACE Award
for Design Excellence.

Mr. Lambertson began his career in the visual department at Saks Fifth Avenue, and
later worked in the fashion office at Bergdorf Goodman and as buyer and developer
of accessories at Barneys New York. In 1990 he was appointed design director at Gucci, where he was responsible for the development and merchandising of all products and was instrumental in the successful re-launch of the Gucci brand. He returned from Milan, Italy, to become CEO of Geoffrey Beene. He went on to become senior vice president and creative director at Bergdorf Goodman. He is a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America and a member and treasurer of the CFDA Board of Directors. He also is a member of the Board of Directors of the Geoffrey Beene Foundation.

Soon after graduating from the University of Cincinnati in 1985, Mr. Truex moved to New York and joined the accessories house of Carlos Falchi, where he held a variety of administrative and design positions, including vice president of design. In 1996 Mr. Truex was named director of design and sourcing at ck Calvin Klein, a position he held for two years until co-founding Lambertson Truex. He is a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America and serves on the Board of Pilobolus Dance Company.
